Once upon a long long time I saw things with a different mind

Trying just to be a part of this society

But then I saw your faces, and those superficial graces

I can understand why there’s no place for you and me

 

You guys know the way to play your daddy wrote the rules

We just hang along here for the ride

Maybe we were dreaming, in that you we should believe in

We can see the faces that you know that you can’t hide

Maybe you have those things they say that you must buy

You may have your diamond rings and tickets for the sky

You may have the colour, the flavour of the day

You may have the look but you don’t really know the way

 

You wear the latest; you’re a person of design

You have your Island home fine restaurants to dine

You may give to charity and pennies to the poor

But you don’t really understand just what we’re fighting for

You got so much more, than you deserve
